Juxtaviews is a real interesting site, focusing on interviews with "people who make the web" so imagine my surprise when Kevin (someone who I met from a former web incarnation) dropped me a line a last week asking if he could interview furni......Take a read here i'm really pleased with how well it came out!

Grassroots modern is a really great weblog that I've been following for a couple years, I did my routine check for updates today (Right now they are featuring some killer info on there bathroom re-model and home addition) and saw a little post about us....very nice! Not long after our mention on Mocoloco earlier this week appeared these little nuggets.............we seriously can't get over how killer the support structure of the design community is!!!!!!

// FURNI AND MOCOLOCO

Mocoloco is a web magazine featuring modern contemporary design news and views. Not only do we worship it's findings on a daily basis, but are fortunate enough to get mentioned every now and again. This past weekend we sent them pics of our new ALBA digital alarm clock, within 3 days of their posting we had over a dozen pre-orders for it! Make sure to bug a local retailler in your town to get some in if you want to see it in person!

/// BACK FROM THE IDS

So we made it back safe and sound from the IDS show in Toronto, ran in to some old friends and met some new ones....If all goes well we should be able to add a couple Toronto locations to our Stockist page....here's a couple pics of the booth we built for the show...it matches our new catalogue layout....The image with the dude on the ladder is Mr James Kerr himself who's artwork and illustrations are also part of the catalogue....

// FURNI AND COLOR MAGAZINE

Vancouver based Color magazine is killer, the most recent issue features some killer artwork from their recent "Said and Done" artshow which is top notch.....we also managed to sneak into the magazine which is also awesome (on a smaller scale)...

// FURNI AND ELSEWARES

We just finished making a brand spanking half dozen "Gator SE" clocks for the awesome dudes at Elsewares. Ryan was cool enough to let us launch our "branding program" with them as our first customer. Elsewares will be our first store getting their initials "EW" stamped in western font into the lower back corners of their order of the "SE's". We plan to launch this option full on when we show the new line at this years IDS in Toronto (more on that at a later date) The "branding" option is like those stickers the dealer puts on your car when you buy it from them, only way cooler!

// CUSTOMIZED GATOR SE

All I am saying is that I have a sweet "Country and Western" punch set in my possession and I know how to use it..... We are going to be adding the option to add your initials to the back of your clock, bling bling! Stay tuned to the online store for new pics and the "Customize" option in the new year....

// FURNI AND "MONSTER CHILDREN"

Sure Australia is the other side of the world, that doesn't mean cool takes any longer to get to them though, I got a box of mags from the dudes at Monster Children about a month ago and I am still working my way through each one trying to suck the awesomeness out of each layout and photospread.....hit their site here for a nice little dose of cool.
(on a side note, the pic they ran is of the McGill flip clock, it's since been dropped from our lineup for a couple reasons.....please don't e-mail us trying to get one, sorry for any confusion, the difference between article submission dates and publication dates seem to be years apart.....)

// FURNI AND "CANADIAN INTERIORS"

After a month of rumours and mentions It's actually true, we are featured in the latest issue of Canadian Interiors as one of the top nine Quebec Designers.....Apart from the small typo in the article that states that the GatorSE is made from "birch" and not "beech" like it should have said, and the fact that there's supposed to be a caption that states the pictured SE is a special "prototype" made from Murado....We are super stoked!!!! Real Simple is a super stylish magazine out of Florida with the tag line "Life Made Easier" It was rad of them to give a little shout out to our "Miller" cutting board who's design does just that. You can get them for 28$ at our online store

Canadian Interiors July/August issue had a little writeup about this years ICFF in New York and our "Magnusson" Acrylic wall clock made an apperance in the spread!

Why do big businesses suck so much??? Shouldn't they be the ones to pave the way for a more responsable future???? I'm not sure if it's due to the fact that I just saw the movie who killed the electric car ? but I decided to make a little fact sheet about some of the practices we use at Furni in our production process (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image) we are doing our best to give a hoot!

Seriously..............We are in the August issue, I am still pinching myself.....no seriously...pinching hurts. For those who aren't familiar with Transworld SKATEboarding it's been around since before I started skating (at least 15 years) and it's the number one skate mag in the world. I will sleep well tonight.

We've launched the new site for the Jacobs, Jones and Brown"studio" line of hand made,exotic wood home accents, the premier piece is the Gator SE (solid edition) based on the popular "Gator" model from our Hilo Line....check it out here

We made it back late Tuesday Night after a stellar visit to the big apple. The show was awesome, distributed over 1500 line sheets,postcard and coasters (Hand screened promo!) We had nice visits from the Kids at COOLHUNTING, MOCOLOCO, CHOCOSHO, CITIZEN CITIZEN, and GIANT ROBOT (To mention just a few) Special props go out to Michelle from "COLOR" Magazine for hooking us up with a place to stay. Once we've had chance to sort ourselves out I will post more pics and updates from the show. Be well....

We got an e-mail a few months ago from the creative editor at "Mix- Future Interiors" magazine out of London, He was digging our "skate-related" concept. The issue made it to our mailbox yesterday, It's now our new bible.

I just got a copy of May's BPM Magazine and on page 23 we are featured in a "spot-on" writeup that's my favourite yet. If you are not familiar with the San Francisco based mag, get out from under your bed and head to your local news stand......... it seriously rocks.

What better place to intro our new high end studio line than at this years ICFF, here's a sneak preview of one of our new clocks, this protoype is in solid beech, we will offer it in Teak,Mahogany,Rosewood and Walnut as part of our new Jacob, Jones and Brown Line

So it's official, we will be at this years ICFF(international contemporary furniture fair) in the big apple. We will be showing in a group exhibit for "New Design Canada" If you are in town come say hi, we will be at booth # 1758. Cheers!

// RADIO REVOLVER 3 "PODCAST"

Revolver 3, a really cool ad agency and branding company out of Montreal just launced their first "podcast" on the topic of creativity, we were lucky enough to be interviewed, check it out here (Most of the profiled artists are interviewed in french, our interview is in english and happens a couple minutes into the "podcast")

// NEW PRODUCT

we've just launched a new addition to the product line called the Miller. The Miller is a bamboo cutting board that cleverly incorporates a flush mounted serving/preparation bowl that can be switched when it's full (our set comes with three stainless steel bowls) It works kick assed when preparing stir-frys and other recipes with multiple ingredients to "prep". The board also doubles as a cool serving tray with sunken "dip" holder!
